On November 2007, I visited my homeland Kolkata, India, and was very happy to touch the lives of four very special children, all who were poor and in need of assistance. As you are aware, the reason for the “Bela’s Book of Miracles and Wonders” is for the proceeds to go to the poor children of India, for their education. Unlike the United States, even primary education is not free in India, and the poor cannot afford the tuition and related expenses.
My sister is a teacher there and was able to guide four very special families and their children through the school registration process. In addition, the proceeds of the book sales provided uniforms, books and transportation, which are very expensive in India. Now, these four children have a chance for a brighter future. I thank all of you, my family, my friends and supporters, who have encouraged me and purchased my book, and I credit you with the success of this program. You are the people, who have helped to make this opportunity, for these special children possible.
This has always been a lifelong dream of mine to return to India and help the poor people of my homeland who live without food and the necessities of life. It is my wish to help them look forward to tomorrow. It is with great gratitude that I write to you my readers, and tell you that finally, my dream has come true. I pray that I can live a long life, so I can watch these children, the newest members of my family, grow healthy, happy and educated. In return, I will live peacefully, while working to do all I can help these children, who called me “Aunt” the first time they saw me. There is nothing more fulfilling than helping a child, who might well have gone hungry and uneducated, if not for the financial support from all of you good-hearted people. I consider myself blessed that I am able to be of service to these four special children in my homeland.
God Bless you all.
